Open Britain Cover 2011

20 December 2010 The OpenBritain 2011 Guide is due for publication in January 2011.

The OpenBritain initiative goes from strength to strength as a one stop shop for disabled people who want to be visitors and tourists. Now a published guide, an associated website openbritain.net and a soon to come open source platform, thanks to the support of British Telecom, OpenBritain is helping Tourism for All UK achieve its cherished goal.

Maria Miller MP, on her appointment as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Disabled People), Work and Pensions gave her support, acknowledging that OpenBritain provides an incentive to businesses to improve their access, and saying:

It is clear that gathering all available information about accessibility relevant to the visitor under one roof will make a real difference to the lives of disabled and older people and visitors alike.

The growing list of influential partners is helping to increase awareness - new partners include DisabledGo and the British Beer and Pubs Association.

The new OpenBritain guide is packed with 400 pages of easy-to-use information including accessible places to stay, to go, to eat, and how to get there.

OpenBritain 2011 retails at £9.99, but is currently available for pre-orders at a special price of £7.99 plus P&P - that's a saving of over 20%!
