5 August 2011 Campaigner Hayleigh to work for better access on airlines

Trailblazer Hayleigh Barclay has set up her own new petition and campaign to encourage airlines to work with disabled people to improve their services.

Hayleigh says:

I have heard stories of people suffering for hours in pain having to travel in an airline seat, or feeling so undignified they feel embarrassed to even travel. Some people have reported that their wheelchairs have been damaged or even broken while it's been transported. I probably don't need to tell you how these situations can make the traveller or their companions feel (and I suspect even the staff members feel guilty at the thought of someone being in pain).

Something has to be done and the only way to do it is to work together and show support for change to be made. It doesn't matter whether you are able bodied or disabled we have to share this world together so please show that you care by signing the petition.

Last year Trailblazers launched our All Inclusive? campaign on access to tourism, which highlighted the concerns of many disabled people who felt they were getting a second rate service from many airlines.
