7 September 2009 Trailblazers achievements recognised at MDC Conference
The outstanding work of Trailblazers Jagdeep Kaur Sehmbi and Sulaiman Khan was recognised on Saturday 4th September at the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign's National Conference in Bradford.
Jagz and Sulaiman, who are the Trailblazers Regional Ambassadors for Birmingham and London, have spent countless hours researching and investigating accessible public transport and education in their areas over the past 6 months and write the weekly Accessibites column for this website. In recognition of their sterling work they were the joint recipients of the charity's Young Persons Award, which was presented by the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign's President, Sue Barker.
Bobby Ancil, Trailblazers Project Manager said,
I'm so pleased that Jagz and Sulaiman's tireless efforts have been recognised by the charity. They both do so much to ensure that Trailblazers' work is engaging, relevant and fresh and their input and leadership is an inspiration to the network.
After the awards Trailblazers ran a group workshop where Sulaiman and Jagz led a review of the network's activity over the last year including discussions on the University Challenge and End of the Line reports and the future access to leisure facilities investigation.

I am really grateful to have been chosen for this award, and its great to share this with fellow Trailblazer Sulaiman :-)
It was the first time I have been to the MD Conference, and had a really enjoyable day meeting old friends and making new ones.
Thanks to everyone at MDC and Trailblazers!
Jagz
